Back to Home Advanced Valve Designs knife gates are custom engineered for smooth operating on/off applications. They are used on piping, hoppers, and various equipment handling flue gas, liquids, and suspended solids in chemical, food, petroleum, pulp and paper and other industrial applications. The AVD knife gate is a fabricated, heavy duty valve or damper. The design features heavy body walls and blade, steel plate or ANSI 150 lb. Class body flanges, and is available as bonneted or bonnetless. Because each unit is custom designed, any round or rectangular size is available. All knife gates are available with manual lever, rachet, bevel gear, electric motor, pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder actuators. Extension stems, floorstands, and stem guides can be provided. Each unit is fully assembled and cycled.

 

Back to Home Advanced Valve Designs slide gates are custom designed. Three styles are available: Self Contained, Embedded Frame, and wall-mounted slide gates, all in a broad range of sizes and materials. Slide gates as opposed to sluice gates, have no mechanical seats, wedges, or thimbles and are fabricated of typically aluminum or stainless steel. The allowable leakage for slide gates is greater than mechanical, cast iron sluice gates. Slide gates are typically more economical than sluice gates and are well suited for lower seating heads.
