Advanced Valve Designs diverter dampers can provide custom, professionally engineered, 3-way diverter style dampers for your specific system requirements.

A number of combinations of diverter dampers are available to meet the required flow diversion, modulation, and isolation. A diverter damper may be as simple as a wafer style tee or wye with stepped seats and bar linkage. Other systems may require a complex system of opposed multi-blade louvers for flow control and modulation and flaps or guillotines for isolation. The damper system in each leg of the diverter can utilize a single drive system or individual actuators and controls.

Advanced Valve Designs guillotine dampers are designed for the primary function of system isolation, and, therefore, are not recommended for control or balance service.

AVD guillotine dampers can close reliably and completely, even in hot, noxious, corrosive, dirty environments. The more positive seating action of the guillotine is a plus in dirty applications.

There are many different configurations of the AVD guillotine design, focusing on performance levels, drive systems, and blade to seat styles, however, four basic designs standout in the industry. A standard single blade-to-angle seat provides an economical, reasonably tight shut-off isolation damper. A single blade with auxiliary spring seals provides extremely tight shut-off. For 100% isolation, a single blade with auxiliary spring seals, utilizing a seal air fan system to purge a peripheral seal air chamber is employed. Zero process gas leakage to atmosphere can be achieved using dual bonnet seals and purge air. The double blade, with pressurized seal air is specifically designed for those applications requiring man-safe entry into on-line systems with high temperature differentials between upstream and downstream faces of the closed blade.
