Advanced Valve Designs butterfly dampers are custom designed for flow control and/or on/off service. Round and rectangular butterfly dampers are manufactured to a wide range of size, temperature, pressure, leakage, material, and actuation design criteria.

Our many seat design options make it the optimum choice for various on/off and control applications. The seat styles and numerous material combinations give the engineer the option of controlled clearance to bubble tight closure in nearly any flow medium. AVD's experience and system expertise can accommodate the most demanding applications.

Advanced Valve Designs louver dampers are used for flow control as well as isolation. Multi-blade louvers feature good flow control characteristics and minimal leakage rates. There are two basic blade arrangements: parallel and opposed. Parallel blade types have tighter sealing capability, and opposed blade types have a broader, more linear control range. Depending on the amount of flow and leakage control required, AVD offers several louver types to choose from.

The light to medium duty applications of flow control and/or isolation. Normally used for low pressures and maximum temperatures of 800 F. This style damper is a low maintenance, good performer and very competitively priced.

The heavy duty industrial grade applications of flow control, and tight shut-off at temperatures up to 1200 F.

The Dual Louver features an air purge between two sets of parallel, opposed or a combination of blades. In the unit with both types of blade arrangements, the opposed blade section controls flow and the combination, when closed, isolates the system.

The AVD dual louver can accommodate a single drive, integrating both banks of blades for single function isolation or dual drives to accommodate isolation and control.
